The commissioning of the Community Library represents a significant milestone in SALG’s journey. Situated in Afari, a town deeply rooted in traditional occupations, the library is a testament to SALG’s commitment to transforming lives through literacy. The library will serve the Afari Presby Basic School, the Afari community, and be of use to the Atwima Nwabiagya District at large. The library features a computer lab for IT education and Research, a great step to promoting digital literacy and skill development of the children and youth of Afari.

- Cement blocks: 1500
- 5kg cement: 200
- Sand: 30 cubic meters
- Gravel: 10 cubic meters
The school is located in a rural area, and the students previously had no access to a library. This meant that they had very limited opportunities to read and learn.
The new library has a large collection of books, magazines, laptops, Mac PC, and other resources that will be available to the students. The computer lab will is a space for students to study ICT and do research.
The library is open to the Afari community, a town with 10,000+ population lacking a library and will also be of use to the Atwima Nwabiagya District at large.
The library is currently completed and was commissioned on 9th March 2024.
We are grateful to our donors for making this project possible. We believe that this new library will make a significant difference in the lives of the students at this school, and the community at large.
